There are two types of topics:

  • Question: A question post is a great option if you are looking to receive a specific answer. By posting a question, you are letting the community know you need a solution. Replies to a question can be marked as as the Best Answerwhich helps the community know which reply is most useful.
  • Conversation: A conversation is great if you want to encourage discussion around a certain topic. Of course, this may still be phrased as a question, but it let’s the community know you want multiple points of view and want to engage in discourse around a certain topic. Use this if you want to share a thought or brainstorm ideas.

3. Create a Title.

Make it short and sweet. It should be related to the body of the topic.

4. Fill in the Description.

This is it! This is where you ask your question or start your conversation. You can format the description with headings, insert links, add code, insert an image, or even create a table.

  • Please note: if you are inserting code, we recommend you use C#, as it is formatted most closely to LINQ.

5. Select a Category and Add Tags

Once you’ve written your post, select the topic you would like it to live in. Please ensure it is relevant to the subject matter so that others for the sake of keeping our community organized. If you are unsure what is the best category, make your best guess and our moderator team will make a change if necessary.

Optional: Add some tags with keywords that relate to the post.
